A few weeks ago I was in Torquay, bought a paid for a 2 hour on road stay, placed ticket on dashboard, and went for a supposed nice two hours around the quay and town.
On my return, I was horrified to see a parking ticket on my windscreen.
Was I late in returning? No, there was ample time left, so why have I got a ticket I thought?
Well, it seems that my ticket was moved by the very windy conditions that day, and ended up under the passenger seat.
Now, I immediately banged off a 'contest this penalty' email, complete with an attached pic of my paid for ticket, thinking to myself, how can anyone refuse to accept this , and to squash the penalty.
Long story short, they bloody well have refused to overturn it, and the penalty stands!
Luckily, I had just bought a new camera and was taking pics of anything and everything, including my car where it was parked, and when blown up enough, there for all to see is the ticket, on my dashboard!
Obviously I shall be sending this extra proof, but I question why on earth it has been deemed that I must pay the fixed penalty?
Your thoughts please gang.
