Every now and again you connect with a musician because of your intense passion for music. RIP Chris Squire.

What a loss. I didn't know he was ill. Leukaemia took my Mum too............. different type.
I was very privileged to see Yes twice.
Thank you Chris

A big loss to music. The guy clearly knew his way around a bass guitar and was not bad at writing a good tune too. Always came across as a nice bloke in interview. I always felt J.J. Burnel must have been influenced by his sound.

I may need some education here. No idea about Yes myself so can somebody give me a track that says it all about the late gent?

That's a difficult task Jo, but give this one a go. I'm sure others have their own ideas

I saw Yes and ABWH many times funnily enough always at the NEC and was always blown away by them but then I have been a mega prog rock fan since 1973. As a massive fan of the Rickenbacker bass, Chris Squire was always my No1 bass player although Geddy Lee comes a close second. For me personally, this has to be the end of the 'Yes' sound and I would hope that they just continue to do their own individual thing however if they must continue then I hope they bear in mind that it will NEVER be the same band. As I understand it, Chris Squire was the only band member never to have left the band and therefore he owned the right to the name and the logo.

For me that killer Chris Squire track just has to be 'Heart of the Sunrise'

Gutting. I was so upset when I heard this yesterday. I still have my ticket for next year's tour, but it just won't be the same without the big man.
Wonderful talent and stage presence and what a legacy.

It's not possible.
