Wanted Linn Keilidhs.

Hi.

Title says it all really, I'm after a pair of Keilidhs, In nice condition, must have Kustone bases and preferably with the Ninka 3 bar tweeter, although that isn't a problem if not as I can upgrade them later.

Prefer collection somewhere near Barry or Bristol but happy to pay postage if they come in original boxes.

Anybody have a pair going spare?

I've always fancied trying a pair of KEF 104/2's, I'm missing the weighty bottom end of hefty floorstanders, if anyone has a pair of those I would be interested.

Don't you like midrange then? :sorry:

Keilidh's MUST be active to sound anywhere near decent these days. if you're going to use them passive, either lay on the floor (tweeter's too low and fires into your knees), or PLEASE look out for some Ninka's..

Not what you want to hear, but being an ex late-model Kustoned Keilidh owner/Linn retailer, I was very surprised and delighted when the Ninka appeared as the replacement model.

P.S. Keosa's look and sound broadly similar, but maybe more difficult to make active...

I appreciate what you are saying, and do acknowledge that the Keilidh midrange isn't exactly, well, up to much, but this will be my third pair and I always yearn to have them back when I sell them, I shall keep my little Curas in a second system.

I had an all Linn system for a while which I really liked, but I never felt comfortable with the 'your system will only sound good if you upgrade this, or go aktiv' philosophy that always seems to hang around Linn set ups at the lower end of the scale.

I used the last pair of Keilidhs with my Copland amp for just a few days before the buyer picked them up (after already selling my Wakonda and LK140) and I knew I would seriously regret letting them go, and after listening to Kate Bush's 50 words for snow, and noticing the absolute lack of what the Keilidhs/Copland did I have come to the conclusion it's time to pick another pair up.

If I thought the Ninkas had the Keilidh bottom end I would happily consider a pair.
