Hence the following:

- LFD mains cable. About 30-35cm. Loyal and just. £20 delivered.

- Tacima 6 plug thingy. You know it, you (probably) like it. Fair use, condition: dusty, all working fine. SOLD.

- old QED (I think) 4 plug thingy with switch. Bought it 2nd hand, ripped the horrendous fake plastic wood that surrounded the box. Switch is at times a bit moody, but a gentle kick or pat solves it. Cable probably worth more than the actual multiplug. £10 delivered.

- 2 mains connectors (keeping the cable, duh)- taken from quality cables. Would be ridiculous to bin those, throwing them for free with anything bought from this list. OR delivered at postage cost.

I could come and pick that up right now, but I fear it is about 20cm too short for my set-up...

Wondering if my other half would notice if I shifted everything a foot to the right!

I found out that Olivier lived 500 yards away from me, so it felt churlish not to go get the mains cable. He also gave me a beast of a longer unterminated cable in case it wasn't long enough. I have shifted the piece of furniture along about 10 inches, and the LFC cable is now *just* long enough to fit. I am buggered if I can tell any difference whatsoever, but I feel that my stereo has somehow been upgraded, and I have a spare cable I can probably use as a bicycle lock.
