Hello collected wisdom,

I am lutewizzard and I have this thing with Revox and Tandberg R2R machines.
Apart from that I am a professional musician and teacher. Furthermore I run an guitar and luteshop in Zwolle in the Netherlands.

I hope to be able to make some valuable contributions and to learn a lot!

R2R: 2 x Revox A77 MKIII 4 track, 2x Revox A77 MKIV 4track, 1x Revox A77 MKIV (parts donor), 1x Revox A700 (project), 1x Revox B77 MKII 2 track, 1x Revox PR99 MKII 2 track, 1x Tandberg X10 4 track, 1x Tandberg X10D 4 track.
Amps: Optonica SM-3636 bought new in 1978, Revox B750, Sansui AU-D101 both bought recently
Pickup: Thorens TD 166 MKIII from 1978.
Speakers Kef Q3, Tandberg 1520, Tandberg 2520.

Hi Geoff.

Thanks a lot for welcoming me.
As I am a player of Renaissance and Baroque music I tend to listen to that type of music a lot but I also like to listen to classical, blues and pop. I have a wide ranging musical taste, fortunately.:)
First thing to do now is the Revox A700 which is quite a complex machine (For me it is anyway). It needs new spool motor bearings and a total recap. So I have my work laid out for the near future.
Later I will post pictures in the gallery.

Hi from NZ - very interesting that you have a lute shop! Certainly a great instrument. I've never heard one live but have many recordings.

Hi Andrei.
If you're interested to hear a lute "in the flesh" you might want to know that there is a lute society in New Zealand. They are also on Facebook. Just Google "New Zealand Lute". I've read in another thread that you've been in the Netherlands.
Which lute recordings do you like most? Greetings from the Netherlands. BTW is your wife Dutch?:eek:

Yes I've heard of them. There was a very famous record which was some kind of early music tophit. In the Netherlands it was called "Muziek voor kerk en kroeg" Very entertaining. They were one of the top early music groups in the sixties and seventies.
