Headphone geek checking in

Hi all!

I've been browsing this forum for a while and have found it very helpful, so I figured I should register :). I'm a headphone-wearing, bicycle-racing, jazz-loving nerd & whilst I'm new here I've been active on the Head-Fi forum for 10+ years http://www.head-fi.org/u/31357/pedalhead .

Currently I have an all-digital setup - DiDiT DAC212, Light Harmonic Geek Pulse X Infinity, Hifiman HE-560 headphones (amongst others) and a couple of lovely 1970s vintage Luxman amps. I'm currently researching a new turntable and the information provided on this forum has been really valuable, so thanks for that!

Like the Luxman amp. Real quality vintage! Made by a company who actually listened to what they were making.

I'm sure you'll find plenty to interest you here. If you want to discuss turntables, you could start a thread in the Anaologue Art section or if it's Technics you are interested in, the Techiepedia sub forum.

Hi Mark,

Just remember that despite the appearance, not everyone here is in love with the Technics 1200 series - there are many other excellent and worthwhile turntables out there. Take your time and find out what sounds best to your ears.

Thanks all! Glad I'm not alone in my little headphone world :D. I had the pleasure of meeting the MD of Michell Engineering today and had a good listen to the Gyro and the Orbe turntables. Hint - if your budget only reaches to the Gyro, don't listen to the Orbe alongside it!! :doh:

I am using GS1000 and have avoided a demo of The PS1000 for that same reason
