Finally now have the time "again" to enjoy my hifi and actually sit down and listen.
Been involved one way or another since I first set foot into the Strathclyde Transcriptions Developments factory in Howwood Scotland that made the STD 305D , 305M AND 305S turntables and some tasty valve amps at the ripe young age of 15 and have been smitten every since .
I favour the vinyl over any other source .

At present my system consists of . Uprated Pr-Ject 1.3rpm {Ortofon red yeuch!! need to get shot of !} . Art DeeJay 11 Phono stage { dont knock it till youve heard it } Croft pre and meridian 103 monos . Epos 11 Oh n a Marantz CD52MK11 .
Cheers .

Hello Frank. Welcome to AOS.

I'm sure you'll like it here. We're a friendly bunch.

Tell us what music you listen to and about any system changes you may have in mind.

If you want to post pictures there's a Gallery section where they'd be most appreciated. If you need help, we can advise.

Not sure why you call yourself an 'old timer'. I bet you're younger than a few of us (me included) :).

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Welcome aboard Frank. Pics need to be hosted on something like Imageshack or Photobucket, so you can put them onto the forum. Hope to see you about
the site mate

Looking forward to hearing some remeniscences about STD times. Not a company you hear so much about these days, but from what I rermember some very nice turntables. Another make that lived it's days in the shadow of the almighty Castlemilk Queen that probably deserves re-appraisal in this more enlightened age!
