Just to see if anybody may be interested in this before I take my chances on ebay. The units are in very good condition. The remote needs new batteries - apparently they have to be soldered in, it was like this when I got it. The dedicated CD player is linked via Quad's own bus link system & doesn't have any other output sockets. The amp has two other inputs and a tape loop, used in my main rig for some time the sound is very neutral (I prefer 'shouty'). I'd be looking for around £350 for the pair & would prefer collection. Thanks for looking.

Ahhh the quad 77 range, my first "proper" but of hifi kit. Well worth the money people, this is a decent price and quad gear holds its value if you want to resell.

Quick bump before I try it on ebay, why not try a cheeky offer ;) I'd sooner it goes to someone deserving + I could probably box it up but no idea how much postage would be, it's pretty heavy.

The 77 systems were really good. Very versatile and an unlimited amount of boxes can be daisy chained. All controlled by a single remote

Thanks Grant. Looks like we're bound for ebay:(

Never did get around to putting this on ebay so a very late bump & price reduction to £300 collection only anyone? (I have misplaced the remote but that didn't work anyway).

Thanks for the interest Andrew but I really need to top up the hifi fund following some recent purchases.

Was actually looking for something else but found the remote! (it doesn't work though, apparently new batteries have to be soldered in - thanks Quad!)

How about, for £350 all in, I chuck in a pair of MS Classic 40 speakers & some speaker cable so you've got a full system?

Please may I add this?

The 77 integrated was weak in one area only - it looked odd compared to other conventional boxes.. A bit short on inputs too (two line plus tape loop and Quadbus) but that's not an issue with many of today's simpler systems I reckon. The sound was exquisite, sweet and always utterly musical in the best involving sense and with a great reproduction of atmosphere if there in the recording, a wonderful alternative to the leaner sharper tones of mid 90's AVI and Audiolab (8000S and 'X' era power amps). The CD player was also great, although we tended to sell the stand-alone version.

Just 'cos it's Quad, don't ever assume the sound is boring, 'cos I personally never found the 77 series this way. Delightful little amp this one, although you need a 606/707/909 for headbanging ;)

I'll be honest Dan I'm fed up with having loads of spare kit hanging around taking up space. I'm going to be listing bits on ebay with fairly low starting prices to move it on, if it doesn't sell it'll be off to the charity shop.

Really tricky to sell anything at present i cant even sell an Akai Amplifier for £20... In my neck of the woods we all know what each others got and who want what. I've got a lot of spare kit about at present thats because i stock pile then get rid to my local dealer "HI-FI House" but 9 times out of 10 he wont want it which again leaves you with a room full of HI-FI but i cannot and will not sell the stuff i love. The only option now days is Ebay and gumtree theirs your market but i cannot be arsed with dealing with people someone will have the quads i just put mine on still love them....

Hi, I'd be interested in the amp, but without the rest (if it would be for sale that way). Can you PM me if so please? Cheers, Mark.

Thanks for the update. They were on my watch list I would have bid higher but couldn't collect

I believe they were a Robin Marshall design hence my interest.
