I'm selling my highly desirable, mint Ortofon VMS 30 Mk.II. This is the model with the superb FL stylus, as also fitted to the MC25FL. I've had this so long I can't recall the history. I'm pretty sure it was new when I got it and it certainly looks unused. I've never tried it myself (too many other great carts). Good examples are now rare. Just try to find another like this -- you won't! Unless you already own it! :)

Difficult to price as they are seldom seen for sale, but as the inferior VMS 20E seems to go for up to £100 these days, I'm offering this at £85 delivered (UK).

Cheers Grant. I'm very tempted to try it and see what it sounds like, but then it would definitely be used (a little bit) :).

May be selling my ADC 26 too.

Think they have ultra light tracking forces.. great sounding carts.

Which?

The ADC 26 had a 60cu compliance and was intended to track at 3/4 to 1.0 grams. It needs a low mass arm.

The Ortofon VMS 30 Mk.II has 22/28 compliance and tracks at 1.0 to 1.6 grams. It works in medium mass arms.

Spec is here: http://ortofon.com/hifi/products/historical-products/vms-cartridges-technical-data

The ADC 26 works OK in my Mission 774, with no fluid damping applied.

I have been watching for a mission arm as I think it work work on my deck but none have appeared lately. Think they may fit my sme mount or be close. I have a rega 300 plate too but I only like ones that the head comes off now... mission you said the wands come off so that would be similar. That mc25 I got off you I really like, especially with the new feet I fitted. It has come alive

That VMS cart is a real hidden gem. When I first discovered how good it was I bought 3 ! I still regularly swap it in to get my fix :)

The bass, particularly, is something else for the money.

I may (just may) be persuaded to part with one of mine at some time. They fit the SME mount perfectly.

I believe you. I am reformed; well partially; but occasionally fall off the wagon

The ADC 25/26 will also work well in an SME 3009 (imp) fixed headshell arm - mine did.

Twonk here has a VMS5e, a VMS10e and a well used VMS 30. The 20 and 30 for me, need a very low mass arm for the bass to work properly (I think the M15 and M20 models are similar). The 30 can sound very delicate when used properly :)

I don't have a low enough mass arm for the ADC26 or XLM mk1. In the 701, my 26 wobbles around all over and tracking of sibilance is dire (this is a new pretty well unused stylus too). The best I ever heard both was in a Transcriptors Fluid Arm. The Dual 701 is currently hosting a ZLM and the two work a treat together.
