Raspi 2 | What audio player do you use?

Hi all,

from the current threads it appears to me that many of you are using a Pi2/onboard Dac solution (e.g. IQ Audio, HiFiberry etc.) and I assume that there are also some users here who use a "solo" Pi 2 (w/o the onboard I2S Dac) with their own external USB DAC.

I´m curious if some of you tested the Pi2 with dxd/dsf file playback. In case "Yes" what is your favourite audio player (e. g. MoOde, Archphile or what so ever) and does it work like a charm? No dropouts/buffering?

In addition to that I´d like to know which control app (Android, iOS) you´re currently using.

Hi Markus,

Yes I am getting good results playing back .dsf DSD files. This is with the IQ Audio dac+.
I use Moode, (now 1.9) with IOS on my IPad. Very stable and no dropouts. I like the way Moode is constantly being worked on with updates monthly.

That's promising. I assume gapless Playback is also possible, or?

Where is your music stored? NAS? USB Drive? Somewhere else?

Yes gapless playback is a switchable option.

I use Hanewin to create a NFS server on desktop computer. Raspberry Pi connected via Ethernet to router. You need a bit of headroom to stream DSD. Hanewin one of the most efficient ways to stream large files perfectly.

Yes tried Volumio and Roone first but found Moode to be the best performer in my setup.
