Always liked Scooby Doo as well, still watch that if I come across it. Even as a little kid I sort of knew it was intended to be ironic.

It's a long time since I watched children's TV, but cartoons I remember from when mine were nippers include Albert the Fifth Musketeer; Arthur (King of Camelot) and Thundercats. Utter drivel as far as I can remember; no doubt my parents felt the same about Top Cat and Wacky Races.

Ha! I remember my mother got fed up reading my brother's comics to him when he was very small (she especially disliked Harold Hare, whose catchphrase was 'Goody-goody gumdrops!'), so I got handed the job of reading the comics to him until he was old enough to read. Funnily enough there was a Harold the Hare annual in the window of the local charity shop the other day.

Very early on it was Pogles' Wood... I love the character of 'Tog' and even named a boat after him..
Then next must be Camberwick Green and then probably Tom & Jerry...
I would still watch all of these today.. I know, I know I'm a kid... I just don't care.. :D:D

1) Ulysses 31 (quickly looking at an episode on youtube, seems to have a prog soundtrack! Love the silent, Space Odyssey 2001 moments)
2) Dungeons and Dragons (thinking back on it, it seems a bit soppy but I liked it at the time)
3) a toss up between Danger Mouse, Inspector Gadget, Thundercats and some others

The best thing about He-Man was at the end where one of the characters would do a piece 'to camera' explaining the moral issues raised by the episode. I can recall my brothers and I used to crack up laughing at that bit. It sort of elevated the show from plain old bad to 'so bad it's good'.
Sounds interesting, but I didn't do 'He-Man' either... Heard of it, but never watched it.
For me, cartoons were mainly a 70s thing. However, a couple that I remember watching in the 80s, are Danger Mouse:

Like a few other cartoons this was a westernised original Japanese show, as was Battle of the Planets, which was in Japan Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (1972). Marine boy was Undersea Boy Marine in Japan.

ulyssees 31 was originally a French cartoon I think, and this intro sequence reminds me a LOT of some of their videos.
