View Full Version : How much of a loony-tune are you?
Shamelessly stolen from elsewhere - take the psychopath test now: http://psychopath.channel4.com/quizzes.html
I scored 42%, and got this feedback:
"Though your conscience is in the right place you also have a pragmatic streak and generally aren’t afraid to do your own dirty work! You’re no shrinking violet - but no daredevil either. You generally have little trouble seeing things from another person’s perspective but, at the same time, are no pushover. ‘Everything in moderation – including moderation’ might sum up your approach to life."
That's a reasonably accurate summary, especially the last bit, being somewhat of a bon vivant! :eyebrows:

I scored 39% and had exactly the same feedback as you did Marco.. ;)
27%....he says smugly :eyebrows:
You are warm and empathic with a heightened awareness of social responsibility and a strong sense of conscience. You like to carefully weigh up the pros and cons of a situation before you act and are generally averse to taking risks. You are very much a ‘people person’ and dislike conflict. ‘Do unto others…’ are your watchwords. But, although you avoid hurting others, those residing at the higher end of the psychopathic spectrum might not be as considerate, so stay vigilant to avoid being hurt unnecessarily.

Sounds about right. Right! :)
Interesting that AoS-ers so far seem to be roughly the same character types, along similar lines to myself (and incidentally, I answered the questions 100% honestly and published exactly the results that came back). However, I'm not surprised at all by the former, and indeed can see a valid reason for it ;)
I'll explain that one later once more folk have taken the test!
Marco.
P.S There seems to be some confusion 'elsewhere' (amongst hard of thinking dunderheads) over this statement: 'Everything in moderation – including moderation’. Think about how the last bit (in bold) changes the meaning of the first bit...!
It essentially makes it mean the opposite, i.e. being moderate should be done in moderation, or in other words, don't give in too often to your desire for spoiling yourself [and I don't :eyebrows:], which is why it ties in with my status as a bon vivant [look it up], i.e. someone who enjoys the good things in life :champagne:
[Lesson over for the intellectually challenged 'elsewhere' - pay proper attention next time].

Right. That's four of us so far. Should be enough. I suggest we head for Downing Street and clear that up, there's a nasty smell coming from the place, then head for The House of Commons and do a little 'spring cleaning' there. The British People will be in our debt! :D

No No. Psychological profiling is real and can be very accurate. Astrology is fanciful tripe for the weak of mind.

Ah. Do you have an agenda here? Should we analyse your supposed standpoint? What is your aim. Who's side are you on? Where do you get your orders from? ;)
I think that there could be an element of cognitive dissonance present amongst *some* of those who've registered a low score in the test [and I'm not referring here to you, Joe] ;)

There probably is with me, too; the whole point about cognitive dissonance is that it's out of awareness. I've only known one person I'd really describe as 'psychopathic'; an ex-schoolmate who was forever getting into fights for no reason and ended up in prison convicted of GBH and attempted murder.

Haha! Written another way, that means "you don't do absolutely everything to excess" which fits about 99% of the population. These quizes always give a very generic answer so that people feel it applies to them, much like astrology in news papers.

This isn't actually a clinical description of "psychopathic". That's the coloquial use of the word, the one popularised in media, fiction and entertainment and therefore in our general lives.
People don't have to be psychopathic to be like that, they can simply suffer from abuse at home (mental as well as physical), be brought up in a "hit or be hit" environment where you have to get violent at any slight insult just to survive, or perhaps have low self-esteem and self worth (the opposite traits of being psychopathic) so you take any normal talk as a massive critisism, (which could be from the abuse at home). Some people will have brain chemical imbalances, e.g some forms of ADHD, and so learn to get their dopamine from things like fights from the environment they grew up in, they enjoy conflict because of the excitement.
From the quiz's explanation:
Being psychopathic doesn't necessarily mean that you're a serial killer – or even that you'll break the law. Actually, within the framework of clinical psychology, a psychopath is someone with a distinct cluster of personality traits including ruthlessness, fearlessness, narcissism, charm, charisma, impulsivity, persuasiveness, manipulativeness and a lack of conscience and empathy.

"Adobe Tagmanager" a tracker I have blocked. Switch it on and it works. I think most people just leave their adblockers as they are. Me, I make it block EVERYTHING.
I just scored 0% by selecting disagree on everything - that's not the sign of a good test (the questions in a clinical test would be switched around so that you'd have to highly agree to some as well as strongly disagree) but of course it is just a bit of fun!
