View Full Version : Aikido copper clone pre
Nice point to point wiring 2 input 1 output valve preamp. £240 inc delivery with the sylnania 2c51 gold pin valves, or £200 with normal valves. Great amp this and has consistently outperformed all comers so far. Alas I need the money so it has to go.

It now has wooden feet and waxed cheeks, so looks a tad better as in pic following PS the feet are the wrong way round in that pic lol usually dont see the screw.

Very nice. Quite tempting too, I like it. That's cheap!
It is both nice and cheap Geoff. sounds wonderful too :eyebrows:

I think we have similar tastes (!) and know you have some great gear ---- I'm very interested ----- any thoughts on how this would work with a pair of Restek M monoblocks ?
I'm thinking ti could be a great match ---- if you ( or anyone else with experience ) agrees I'll take it with the better valves if I may ?
cheers
chris
dont see why it wouldnt suit unless they are super sensitive Chris. it has a good amount of gain. its worked with all my power amps well

Exposed valves are not young child friendly.
That is my only concern with an imminent arrival.

Oooohhhh just seen you have some EB Frugels on order --- I know Steve very well, they are great speakers - I've had a pair --- I bore others with my recommendation (!) but at the price point i think they are untouchable ..... I moved to a smaller place and so use his M1nx standmounts which are just as astounding perfprmance wise considering they are less than £300 ------- Steve deserves to prosper a very nice guy with a great product -----let us all know how you get on with Frugels when they arrive - I think a proper review is needed
clone sokd to Chris..thanks for the interest all

My experience with Steve has been faultless.
His customer service is superb.
I am not sure I can do his speakers justice with a review. I will give my overall impressions of them though.
They should suit my Proprius mono blocks very well. Steve has told me that they work extremely well, so time will tell.
I am really looking forwards to July!
