I am selling my Rega RP3, bought new from Graham's in Islington about a year ago (i have the receipt which i am happy to send to any prospective buyers). I have inherited a Thorens TD160 which has sentimental value and as i can't justify two turntables the Rega has got to go. It has the Elys 2 cartridge, with no more than 30hrs use, fitted. It is in very good condition, although the dust cover has a few of the usual dust scratches on the top and one larger scratch (pictured) on the back. The TT itself and arm are mint and as new. I am looking for £350ish. I would prefer collection as i'm not sure how to courier a TT safely. I am in Reigate, Surrey but travel into London most days so could box it up and meet a buyer at a mainline station if that would work. Alternatively i am happy for a buyerr to organise his/her own courier.

Hi Peter. I have tried sending you a PM but I think you need more posts before you can receive them. I'm not sure what the protocol is for sharing emails openly on the forum, can anyone advise?

Oops, I don't want to break any form rules here!

I like the turntable but a bit above my budget. I'm also OCD and would replace the dust cover @ £55. I could offer £300 and collect on Saturday morning as I will be dropping my wife off at gatwick.

I hope this doesn't appear too low ball or cheeky but my absolute limit.

Many thanks!

You could buy some Xerapol plastic polisher for about £10 and get that cover looking like new with half an hour or so of elbow grease.

I use ASDA car paintwork renovating polish followed by Silvo or jewellers rouge then a wax. It's a nice turntable by the way, looks great in white.

Hi Peter,

I could accept £325 if you could collect as you would be saving me the hassle of lugging it to London. The only visible mark really is the one on the back of the cover. The marks on the top are very minor and only show if you look VERY closley. As the folks on here say getting the cover back to looking mint would be a very easy job.

Used Brasso on my Michell turntable lid, brought it up like new.
£325's a great price for a deck like this and its great he's "meeting in the middle" re: price. :)

This is quite amusing.

The wife is on a plane heading out of the country = Perfect time to drop money on new hifi.

You're right.

Her questions (as I have an old Project Debut 11) - why do you need it? She simply doesn't get it!!

Martin - how about £320 - with the £5 going towards the clearing?

I think he's just haggling for the sake of it now.
