I bought this from bte the other year but never got round to using it much as i ended up using a active pre as i want to use a remote.
i can not remember the volume pot used but i know it was not alps, i think it was something called alpha though i may have got the name wrong.
i remember i wanted solid core cable inside instead of silver cable.
i can not remember the wood choce either.
i have taken many pictures of the inside including of the volume pot.
i did try it over the last month with my mono blocks and it sounds great, volume is very smooth,no crackles of any kind
only thing i noticed is on some cd's i had to turn it to 1 'o clock to get a decent volume.
with my other power amp i never needed to turn it louder so it may be my firestone class d amps
£35 (bank transfar) plus £10 delivery which will be via royal mails next day special delivery service.,if it is any cheaper then a tenner i will refund the difference.
