I agree, although you'd probably need to see round the back, where the arm is fitted, as there appears to be some type of 'pod' attached. Compromises have obviously been made, due to the T/T's round shape.

Possibly, but a few current high-end T/Ts use an SL-1200 motor mechanism, at the heart of the their designs, and sound superb. Ignore the idiotic price, as all that tells you is that the 'Evolution Minima' has been aimed at folk with more money than sense. It has little to do with how it will sound in the real world! ;)

I quite agree. Its heavy looking and the controls look random, let alone the arm support just plonked down on the rim. I don't think its worth any more than £29,000 personally.

To me the interesting point is not the price or the looks but the fact that apparently these TTs with high end aspirations, utilise Technics motors. I think that is quite an endorsement.

A very good (and valid) point. Andrei! It endorses precisely why those of us who've done it, spend thousands of pounds on modifying our 'Techies'; simply because the outstanding quality of the motor unit warrants it :exactly:

It's also why I said earlier in this thread that my gut feeling is that this T/T would sound superb. I wasn't commenting on its looks, which aren't particularly to my taste either.

The interesting thing would be to compare, say, my T/T, or one of the other heavily modified ones belonging to AoS members, against it and see whether (for example) the £6k I've spent on mine allowed it to sonically outperform the "Evolution Minima', costing some €30,000.

That would then ably demonstrate the efficacy of going the (max) SPPV route, and put into perspective why some of us here do what we do!! ;)

Even worse looking.

The radical differences in look, sort of suggest random ideas with not much coherence of design but I suppose it might be under the hood so to speak.

Anyway if I was buying a new TT I know exactly what it would be :) sadly can't afford to but at least I know what it would be :(

AMG Viella V12 Turntable :)

I have just heard the AMG Giro and it destroys every turntable I have here, not slightly but massively, including every Technics I have, regardless of what arm or PSU I have tried on them. Simply stunning and the best analogue experience I have ever had in my home. I don't mind saying but I got pretty upset when it had to leave the house.
