28" to 32" full HD screens for my Korus server

Out of idle curiosity, what are the various Korus server (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?24774-Introduction-Korus-computer-audio&highlight=korus) owners here using as a monitor? I'm looking for a HDMI equipped full HD wide screen to replace the 22" computer monitor I'm using, so I'd welcome any pointers to 28" to 32" wall mountable flat screens or monitors that won't cost the earth. I'm not too fussed if it has Freeview etc, I'd primarily be using it to play BlueRay's via the server, as well as accessing jRiver and Google Chrome...

Hi Pete , I've used a Panasonic 37 inch plasma TV with mine for the last 4 years and it works beautifully with JRiver .

Cheers Brian :) Given my listening position in relation to where I'd like to wall mount the display, I think 37" might be a bit too big. If I could find a decent 32" display or even a smart TV around £300, that could well be a winner...

found Samsung stuff to be the best for value and quality. TBH they make most of the parts for tvs now anyways

Cheers Grant... I've heard nothing but good about Samsung kit too, but I've always had a soft spot for the Sony Bravia and Panasonic Viera ranges. Having just sold my LP12 on eBay, I desperately trying to resist the temptation of upgrading my current Sony full HD flat screen TV for something new and use the Sony with the Korus. Problem is the Sony weighs a ton and the newer screens I've seen are thin and light, plus I promised the Sony to a family member when I was to eventually upgrade...

I'm using a 32" Goodmans which was left in my brother's skip because the speakers didn't work! Works fine for me using Jriver and watching films,although not the best picture quality for films! For free though it's more than acceptable for the amount i actually watch on it!

I would also recommend Samsung or maybe LG for decent budget screens!

I got my mum a 32" Samsung from Richer sounds last month and it was under £300 and was great. It was last years model though (H) and has now been replaced by the J series, still selling for £299 at Richer.

They also tried to sell me a Blaupunkt which at 32" comes in at the bonkers low price of under £150, but with no freeview or 'owt like that but picture quality will still I imagine win out over most screens more than a couple of years old.

TV lines seem to get replaced so quickly these days that it seems daft to buy the latest one when one barely 12 months old will come at a big discount, and Richer seem good at knocking out large numbers. My experience with my mum's TV is also not really to worry about anything other than the picture, as you will use a HUMAX box (or whatever) for all functionality and in your case (I imagine) the sound will be coming from your hifi...

In the end chaps, armed with the proceeds of selling my LP12 and Graham Slee Phono amp, I decided to upgrade my main TV to a 48" UHD 4K Samsung UE48JU6400 (http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/samsung/ue48ju6400/sams-ue48ju6400) and my existing Sony KDL-40W4500 will be used for Korus server duties once the bespoke AV rack I have on order arrives next week... so thanks again to everybody for their input :)
