Hey all,

This might be a really stupid/simple/obvious question but....

I am going to buy a new power supply for my Raspberry Pi and I want to put both in a new metal custom case.

The is this power supply - http://markgrantcables.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76_77&products_id=267&zenid=upg5193q9f7t51bgbbum5mfi42

So...my question is...can I simple remove the UK plug and re-wire it with an IEC inlet like this - http://www.mains-cables-r-us.co.uk/diy-componants/990-furutech-fi-06-iec-inlet.html

I can then attach the inlet to the case with the power supply inside and connected and use a standard mains cable.

Will this work?

Yes.

Though why not remove the plug, fit the power supply in the case, drill a hole, feed the cable through securing with a grommet and then refit the plug?

Best connection is no connection..

Yes it will if I have understood your post correctly.
