I'm curious to try a Technics cdp (with variable volume) so am looking to sell the CJ.
I'm asking £150 posted or if you've a nice Technics to trade lets chat.
This is a very good sounding deck with what is widely said to be a very analogue sound to it. This is most likely due to the combination of a Philips Bitstream dac with a massive output stage.
This has the CDM 4/19 mechanism which is working fine. I have a spare gear and belt I can include if you like too.

That pcb on the right of the picture with the huge capacitors is the output stage.
I have fitted an IEC socket in place of the original figure eight.

I know captive is best but it's nice to have the option to change.
It's in pretty good condition for its age. I have no remote, I'm told a Philips/Marantz one from the same period will work but haven't bothered.

I gather it dates to the mid '90s.

The web doesn't provide much info as these seem fairly rare. That's not eGhey rare but actual rare.
That said, all I can find is positive with nobody at all having a bad thing to say about it.
A quote from Stereophile "the SD22's "got the warm romance of tubes in spades," even though [it] doesn't have a single tube".
Any questions folks please feel free to ask.
I'm in Peterborough and would prefer collection but I will box this baby up damn well if posting.
