I don't know the first thing about them but have just heard 'One upon the sea of blissful awareness' and need to hear some more.
What's a good CD to start with?

"Are You Shpongled" is as good a place to start as any Jerry... "Museum of Consciousness" is a good long player of theirs worth checking out too :)

Incidentally, the track you mention is from their 2001 release "Tales of the Inexpressible"

A really good album by Simon Posford (Shpongle) is the Younger Brother album 'A Flock of Bleeps'. Sheer brilliance and the stereo imaging... Oh my.

I thought Younger Brother - Vaccine was brilliant too.

Took my CD over to Floyddroid's yard other week. He liked it so much he ordered one for himself....

Vaccine? I was seriously disappointed after Bleeps and Last Days.

Bleeps though - incredible album. One of the finest electronic albums ever made surely.

I prefer the band sound of Younger Brother myself, this was the album that led me to discover more of them and sphongle.

Hey, Museum of Consciousness, is that the 'Brain Floating in a Fishtank' track...? Bloody marvellous.

+1 from me, definitely.

I'm a huge Shpongle fan. Actually, it's more accurate to say I'm a fan of Simon Posford because he's the brains behind all of it. Raja Ram's flute playing is an integral part of almost everything Simon has ever created.

Remember too that as well as Shpongle & Younger Brother there's also his other incarnations..

Celtic Cross - Hicksville - For you LP guys side 2 is a tour de force!

The Infinity Project - Mystical Experiences - Pretty good, more ambient sounding. More earthy. Raja Ram is more to the fore here.

Hallucinogen - Twisted - The clue's in the name. Not my cup of tea (not at 50 anyway) but I'm a completist. This is not for bed-time.

The Hallucinogen 'In Dub' album is awesome. It is though mainly a collection of remixes.

If I may, I'd like to draw your attention to The Peaking Goddess Collective which is quite similar. There is one of their tracks which features the pouring of sparkling water. Amazing if that is your thing.

Hi Shaun. I wasn't aware of this album but I am now. Thanks.

I'll check this out too. Thanks for the recommendation.
