1000 apologies for misleading any of you. It is a CS515 (not 151!!). I'm not sure, but I'm guessing, the main things to look at/replace would be the stylus (a cert?) and possibly the belt drive? Your thoughts? I'm told on E-Bay new Ortofan DN165E stylus ' are common to come by and retail for about £15-20? Would that be correct? Also, one of the original conversations in the thread mentioned about connecting the record player to the speakers so I have now pictured the input connector (is that correct terminology? I doubt it!). Cheers Microbialt ....Tier 3 next!!

The DN165E in proper Ortofon/Dual form would be nearly a ton now I reckon, at Ortofon's inflated prices. An OM5 or OM10 stylus ORIGINAL would perhaps be better IMO. The plinths on these were a bit flimsy I seem to remember, so careful siting is a pre-requisite. If you're happy to register there, go to the Vinyl Engine site, register and log in and browse to the Library, where there's loads of Dual instruction and service manuals.

The cable you've pictured is the earth lead. There should be signal cables with red and white (or black) 'RCA phono' plugs on.

By the way, I think the mat is upside down in your pics. they weren't good at this time I think, and a cork one (Oscars Audio is a great cheap one) may 'sound' better.
