For sale: Garrard 401 with SME 3012 in slate plinth

I'm advertising this on behalf of a friend. It's an early 401 with a flush strobe, which has been serviced and is running beautifully. The deck has been set into a substantial slate plinth which was cut by a stonemason and has been engraved on the front. A Series 2 SME 3012 with headshell (but no cartridge) is included, and the deck is complete with a custom-made acrylic cover. It sits on substantial steel feet which in turn sit on a slate sub-plinth, all of which are included in the sale.

It looks and sounds superb, but really needs to be seen to be appreciated. My friend is in North London and pickup would be preferred give the size and weight. He may be prepared to meet or deliver within reason.

He would like £2500 for the complete deck but may be open to near offers. If you are interested, please PM me and I will put you in touch with him directly.

The plinth is now sold subject to payment. The 401 (Serial no. 20451) is available at £450 plus postage at cost. The motor has been stripped and serviced and it's running beautifully. The SME 3012 S2 is also available at £700.
