I don't know if I'm posting this in the right section...but I was wondering if members might offer advice on a large, thread-drive turntable project I have in mind? I've sourced most of the parts - motor by Singer, thread by Jonelle, arm by Prosthetics-R-Us. But I'm really stuck over the matter of a platter and bearing - can anyone suggest a possible source?

I'm also a bit stuck for a plinth, but I'm not so worried about that. I was told authoritatively by a nice old lady to whom I gave my last completed project, a pair of earphones made from coat hangers, that someday my plinth would come.

Hmmm... Mods....this only works where originally posted. Which was the Alternative Uses thread in Blank Canvas. So I've re-posted it there.
If you think it inappropriate then please delete it.

Lol.... The problem is when you've got loads of threads to read, you only have time to scan them briefly, and so any content even remotely cryptic (not immediately obvious) gets completely missed!!
