Is anyone using the Mike New copper armboard?

I'm very interested also how it would compare with my sound supports armboard. The sound supports board is very well and very thick metal.

I think Andy (Rexton) had one, but changed it for one of Speedy Steve's solid ebony jobbies, which I think he much prefers. Mike's armboard is superb, but in my experience, the Techy works best with wooden armboards, which provide a more musical, less 'hi-fi' sound than their metal counterparts.

I'm so glad I'm keeping the 1210.

That hum issue from the left channel was driving me mad. Because the Rega RB700 arm decides to connect the ground to the left channel is was picking up hum from the negative 21v from the chassis. All I done was to break this coonection and put in a separate earth from the ceck to the phono stage problem solved and a superior sound as a result.

I'm still saving up for the ETP! How tall was in height is your ETP to the original platter with an Oyaide MJ-12 on top?

Also did you use a BR-One when you had your MJ-12?

I used the Cu armboard flawlessy for about 2 years and fancied a change. I bought the armboard and judged it to be a decent upgrade for the money. I sold the Cu armboard and it paid for a free upgrade! The Cu armboard is excellent and a worthwhile upgrade and it looks very nice but I just thought the ebony armboard dug a bit deeper into detail and revealed more microdetail. I think there may be a little review somewhere on the forum :scratch: Finally, if your thinking of going down the 1210 mod route have a read of my trials and tribulations. It may save you time, effort money and blown PCB's. :lol:

l use the BR-One of my Techie, under the Oyaide mat, and l have to say its effects are subtle indeed.

I had to cut my BR1 down as it was to big to fit inside the lip?
