can anyone tell me whether these speakers are good? - I have a chance to pick up a pair in good condition but without the grills for around £40. I really like the look of them. I would also be interested to know when they were produced, thinking of using them with mid 70's separates with a pioneer SA-7300 amp which I think is 35W per channel. Currently using marantz PM4000amp/Kef Q15 speakers which I am happy with but like the 70's look better - perhaps not the best reason for changing!

I've no experience with the Castle speakers but having tried the bigger variant of the Kef I reckon the Castle will be strides ahead.

At that price you can't go wrong. Should be easy enough to move them on if they don't suit.

I don't need new speakers at the moment, but I would take them at that price for later on when it's time for a change.
