The effects of discrete power regulation on the PCB's of a TEAC VRDS25X CD player

Just thinking aloud. Would I see any difference in discrete power regulation? Paul Hynes worked wonders on my Technics 1210 with discrete power regs to its PCB. Could I see something similar in improvements? I don't want to go down the route of trying new CD players and just to get the most out of what I own.

Hi Andy,

Can you be more specific about what benefits you heard with the Paul Hynes supply because I know from Marco's post a PH solution is available for the Rasberry Pi network solution. (Hopefully those DACs will arrive soon so we can experience what all the fuss is about). :)

Lots and lots of microdetail. Soundstage seperation. More solidity and cohesion. Surprised the hell out of me when I heard the difference. ;)

I would think you would Andy, separating analogue and digital circuit blocks via individual regulation has to be beneficial.

I'm just thinking about modding it further, Joe. It's already got an additional psu, this should help but I wondered if pcb regulation might be the way to go. As for cost, well depends on what's recommended by our boffins.

nope perhaps that should be next purchase.

Yep... I'd say so. Just to keep as a back-up. It's a lovely cdp is that but not a very nice paperweight.. :)
