I'm looking for a turntable with a budget of £300 to £500 max.

Needs to look nice to get past the missus so I'm thinking maybe a Thorens or maybe a 1210 although I'm not sure what model or mk is good to go for.

I previously had a Sony PS6750 and while it sounded great it was huge and also not the prettiest and the living room police didn't like it on display.

What about Geoff's gorgeous Michell Focus One?

A total bargain at £150 and just up the road from you. You'd have enough cash left to get a good arm for it.

A Mission 774 would work a treat on this and fit straight on the existing mounting.

The Origin Live advertised by Floyddroid is very good, although at the top of your budget and no arm ... but would see you through many a future upgrade.

very nice looking and Im sure sounds as good ----- I recently bought a very nice Pro-ject 1.3 Genie with Ortofon Red and an upgraded acrylic platter ---- I was hoping to get back into vinyl ( and still plan to ) but my stored lp collection is buried in storage and so far buried I cant get to it for a couple of months atleast --- so this is going for £230 if you want a cheaper set up its in basically mint condition and has required looks I'd suggest --- can send photo if needed but it may be too basic for your needs
