Hi

For sale an unusual pair of i believe home made speakers marks on the speakers point to them being Marsden Hall But not sure. The work fine a good restoration project  The cabinets are very large and are very weighty the have sloping tops have paint marks and need some TLC The stands are great really well made. The will be collection only demo welcome but i wouldn't trust putting a decent amplifier on them i used a cheapo Poineer just to check the they seem fine. Price wise looking for £50 ONO Or swaps for something interesting.

PS Only one picture at present i have packed them away cos i cant bear looking at them  bit Fugley

Thanks
Dan

When you say "I wouldn't try putting a decent amplifier on them".....what do you mean? Are you concerned that they may blow an amp up? I would assume that if they do not blow up a crappy amp, then they are not shorted internally and they are safe.

How would describe their sound? They appear to have bass, mid and treble units. Do they all work? I might be interested.

Hi Rob

By saying i would use a decent amplifier on them i mean the buyer should get the checked out before committing to putting their best gear on them just to be safe, Yes working fine Bass mid & treble sound crisp and bass is neutral though i only gave them a quick test just to see if they work and they do thats as far a i have gone. They just need an area of expertise to give them a clean bill of health thats all...So if your interested your more then welcome to buy them.

Thanks
Dan

Dont think they are original drivers for Marsden Hall. They used to use there own drivers.. the audax ones are right though. Think these may be a set of speakers that have been altered to suit.

I remember that crossover box from way back. DIY thing from Tandy or the like I think.

It's an Eagle crossover. W H Smith and Lasky used to flog them.

Looks like I wasn't far out in my guesses about the drivers. I used to build a lot of speakers and came across just about every driver on the market back in the seventies/eighties, so I tend to recognise many.

Yes, I was a Tandy devotee:D They sold those crossovers. Shame they are no more in the UK. I think Craplin sell a similar crossover.

If some of the original units have been replaced, then it may be pot luck that they work together. Shame.
