Cartidges with 'open' lugs

I have a couple of superb MM cartridges that have 'open' cartridge lugs. It seems a strange development to me but what's the best way to attach such a cartridge to the headshell without destroying the lugs?

ADCs are usually much higher compliance than MCs, track at low downforces and generate much less mechanical energy at the stylus. Therefore in my opinion do not need to be as heavily bolted into the headshell. I've used ADCs for forty years and find nylon bolts perfectly adequate. They can be obtained in black if that takes your fancy and also, they don't mark headshells and long ones can be shortened with a craft knife. I still have ADCs and still use nylon bolts.

There are loads on eBay. What diameter would I need for the job? The arm is a fixed headshell sme 3009 ii improved.

eBay. No black ones listed at the moment as far as I can see. These are M2.5 20mm, should be adequate and can be cut down.

I've ordered some of them there nylon nuts and bolts. Thanks for the advice, I'll give them a try Geoff.
