Hi all I'm looking to upgrade my Pioneer A400 with mundorf capacitors but the only ones available to my technician is the 10000 uF 63volt, and according to other upgrades I have seen they use 15000 uF, can I ask if using the 10k would make any difference, sorry I'm no techy so really want to be sure that it won't damage the amplifier

Thanks

It will make a difference. Don't bother swapping mate. Get the right value.

Don't worry if they're not Mundorf. Any good quality capacitor maker will do if the voltage is specified correctly. The lower bass is where the difference seems to be and some smaller amps don't really benefit at all, the extra perceived 'speed' being more beneficial. The A400 though, would benefit from the bigger value, although it's instinct borne of experience saying this ;)

Good luck. the A400 polarised opinion somewhat at the time and I've heard them sound awful and bloomin' marvellous at various times ;)
