Are you wanting plates the same thing Michell put on say the 'Gyrodec' plinth?

I am looking for a piece about 16" x 6" in gloss black white and gloss black in a 3 piece sandwich ,
then with a point cutter cut some text so you can read the white through the black :)

Laser cutting/engraving on acrylic perhaps you're thinking of? That would be YNWaN on here..
