It's not a hoax. The first human head transplant is likely to go ahead soon.

Would it be a head transplant or a body transplant ? I think of my 'self' as residing in my head - everything else (heart, kidneys, liver, all the stuff we transplant already) is there just to keep my 'self' going and to help perpetuate my genes. A whole body transplant would just be the next step down a road that we've been on for a while. And of course the patient would get to keep his or her ears. So the all-important sound of the hi-fi wouldn't be affected.
