Hi Ollie. Welcome to AOS.

There's no such thing as an "audiophile" system. I mean, where does one draw a line and say this is such? You can't. The term just implies a sort of snobbery. Sound systems are just as good as they are, no more or less. Nothing wrong with your gear anyway. :) Choose and use what you like I say!

Anyway, do you have any plans or changes in mind for the system? We'd like to hear about them if you do.

There are sections on AOS about just about every Hi-Fi topic, so I'm sure you'll find plenty to interest you.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Plans for the system? Well when I got the Marantz amp I had Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 little speakers. Now I'm wondering if I should get a more powerful amp to drive the Jades. They sound great though, super good bass. Also, the Pi's power is marginal for BBC radio stations in a browser. It plays anything audio on a hard drive and most internet radio, but iplayer is heavy on the javascript. Maybe I'll get a new model Pi.

Welcome to AoS Ollie,

Don't worry about how others may perceive your system - it's your system, playing your tastes in music and listened to by your ears. That is all that matters.

Enjoy the Forum

Barry
