View Full Version : For sale: Dynaudio, Audio Synthesis and NVA A80s
I'm thinking of selling my fantastic Dynaudio speakers, with much reluctance, I have to add. Due to a reduction of my working hours and ever increasing bills!
These are mint in Black Ash, with matching Stand 4 stands, also in black. I have all the boxes and manuals etc. for the speakers and stands. There is one slight mark on the base of one of the stands, but it's hardly noticeable, as it's at the back.
I can post pics, but wanted to see what reaction I get from this thread first, if indeed there is any interest.
The current retail price with stands is £2789.00. I'd be looking for around £1600.00 ish.
Let me know what you think.
I would ship abroad, but buyer would have to pay full costs and inurance.
Cheers
I do really need to move these, so is £1450.00 any better?
Also, as I need the money, I'm thinking of selling my Audio Synthesis Passion 8M pre-amp and my 3 month old NVA A80 mono's. The pre-amp is the best passive that AS have ever made, David Heaton from AS uses one himself in his home system. I'm thinking of around £750.00 or thereabouts for that. The A80's are only 3 months old and as they cost £1200.00 new, I'm thinking of around £800.00 for those.
Let me know what you think and if these prices are fair etc....

Thanks for the sympathy, I need it! It's the last thing I want to do, but I've got kids to feed......
Am I getting nearer at £1400.00?
I can reduce the price of my Pre too if that helps....? Say £699.00.
Hi,
I can post pics, but wanted to see what reaction I get from this thread first, if indeed there is any interest.
Just a thought, but maybe there'd be more interest in the first place if you posted the pictures? ;)
Folk like to see what they're buying before they part with their hard-earned. Personally, I'd consider pictures mandatory on any sale ad :)
Marco.
Good point, I'll get them posted as soon as I can.
Cheers
Nice one - just trying to help :)
Marco.
Ok, as suggested, here's a few pics of the items for sale. As I'm rubbish at photo's, there isn't one of my NVA's as they just reflect the flash and look pants! It also shows all the dust and as they are acting like mirrors shows all sorts of cables and stuff, anyway if you've seen one NVA box, you've seem 'em all!
Just notice the small scratches on the back of the base of one of the speaker stands, other than that all the kit is mint. The AS is very good for it's age and I have the box as well for it.

Apparantly the NVA website has some problems with Google, so check them out here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NVA-A80-Monoblock-Power-Amplifier-Pair_W0QQitemZ220433300412QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Au dioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers?hash=ite m3352d93bbc&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262) instead on e-bay.
By the way, Mods, could you rename this thread 'For sale: Dynaudio, Audio Synthesis and NVA A80's' please. Much appreciated.
Cheers
I need to sell these pieces, so for a start, I'm dropping the speakers to £1300.00..... surley this is a bargain?
Cheers
Good news, the preamp has now been sold. Please feel free to make me an offer on the speakers and power amps.
Cheers
So I've finally managed to get some pictures of my NVA amps. Hope this helps, and please feel free to make me an offer.
Cheers

Right, I need to get serious...... If anybody wants to make an offer, then please go ahead, I'll only say no if it's too low.
As a starter I'm dropping the price of the Dynaudio's to £1200.00! Remember, these speakers are now nearly £2800.00 new! Thats a major saving.
The Dynaudio's are sold, so only the NVA's to go.... I do need an integrated (cheap) amp, so could part ex I suppose.
Cheers
Now I really need to move these, so £750.00 is the last chance before they go on e-bay.... aarrghhh!
Cheers

can i ask, what you are looking to relpace your old kit with ... its not my business, im just hoping for a happy ending to this story
Thanks for your concern, don't worry too much it's only hi-fi in the end :). As for the kit... I don't know! I'm keeping my front end (Akurate DS) and as funds allow I'll get what I can. Maybe some old Naim, as it's reasonable money and quite robust, or something along those lines.
Anywho, you never know, I may come into some money, stranger things have happened.....
Thanks again.

oooo a fellow ds user (i have a majik) maybe thats why i felt so much concern... something in the unexplained relms portraying a hifi kinship of sorts to me ;)
hmmm ... naim, linn, dynaudio.... you dont know norman soloman do you?
you dont know norman soloman do you?
Sorry I don't, maybe I should! Anyway the DS cost so much, in fact it has been the most expensive piece of kit I've ever owned, so I'm particularly reluctant to get rid of it. It's also the most eye opening product I've ever had, truly amazing.
Have you 'Dynamik'd' your's yet?

just a dealer i know.. he used to sell pretty much only naim and dynaudio. he sells linn, leema, adam and other such expensive kit now www.uhes.co.uk.. he sells it all from his house, so when you want to buy stuff you get invited round for a whole day of listenening - lunch, wine, the works - bloody amazing it is!
anyway, i agree the ds kit is very eye opening!
does the dynamik make a big diff then? i was pissed off as i got my majik a month out of the half price upgrade thing...
The Dynamik makes a difference, yes. I thought that the first Cara release was just as good though!
For the £225.00 promotional thing it's a no brainer. For the full price, I would ask your dealer to hear one to compare it and make up your own mind.

well there is a difference in sound.. sounds maybe a touch more anylitical if anything?? what did you get out of it?
im happy, what with it being a free upgrade... but im not sure id pay £225 if this is the level of differance a dynamic makes ....
Well apparantly, Cara was written with the Dynamik power supply in mind, so they should be used together. There is a great difference of opinion on the Linn forum. Some like Cara, some not. Same with the Dynamik. I felt that all of the additions have made a worthwhile improvement, but as I said earlier, if you can get to borrow one and try it for yourself, then that would be the best thing.

Il bare that in mind I think, it would, I'm fairly certain, be no issue to borrow one! I have too many other plans for upgrades at the mo to justify it unfortunately! Maybe one day!

... As a side note, don't you think it's discusting that the iPhone control software for linn ds is £50 ... I know it's a third party and they want to make their money but I will never buy it at that! They would be much better off selling it at £10 .. I recon 5x more people would buy it!

Actually there is more of a difference than I thought ... I think .... Sound somehow a bit more ... Actually... I'm sticking to anylitical... Harder sounding (does that make sence) def a dif presentation...

You can buy Plugplayer, which works quite well for only £2.99. Also there is a new one called Konductor out soon, but I don't know the cost of that, probably about £30.00.

ah, excelent.. plugplayer does everything i would want it too. i have even enable volume control on the majik! what other features could justify £30 or even £50?

errrrr...... nothing really. In fact I don't have anything even remotely witty to end this comment.

:) il stick to plug player then i recon... thanks for the heads up on that! you have added to my ability to move even less when listening to my hifi! and probably saved me £47 (i prob would have bought it in a drunken moment at some point in the future)
That's it...... all gone:wah:
Thanks to everyone who looked.
Cheers
