Hello to all
My name is David and I have been meaning to join for ages having been an occasional casual of the site. I am based in the North East of England.
My system: Thorens TD2030turntable with RB 300 tone arm and Ortofon 2M blue cartridge, Copland CDA 823 CD Player, Unison Research Secondo amplifier and Totem Arro speakers and a Cambridge Audio 640p phono stage. Cables are Artisan Silver Dream (Balanced line) between amp and CD player (excellent cable by the way) and Kimber 4vs cable. I plan to buy more Artisan cables.

Music: I listen to all genres of music from Pink Floyd to Jazz, Jenifer Warnes, folk a bit of classical and am getting into J J Cale of late and am starting to buy more vinyl than CD.

Cheers

David

Hi David. Welcome to AOS.

Do you have any system changes in mind? We like to hear what people are planning.

As you probably know, having looked at the site before, there are sections covering every Hi-Fi topic.

If you have questions, just locate the right area and ask away, or if in doubt use the Blank Canvas spot.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Hello Geoff
I fancy buying 2 more Artisan Silver Dream cables for my phono stage (when funds allow), then maybe upgrade to a valve phono stage at a later date. What are your thoughts.

Not familiar with Artisan cables David. Had a look on eBay, they're not cheap. Just my thoughts, but would the money not be better spent on a phono stage upgrade. I like the little 640P (I've had a couple), but it is a budget unit and you're buying expensive cables in comparison. A move to something like a Graham Slee ERA V Gold or Reflex M would give you a far better return for the money and a huge upgrade anyway.

I like your Totems by the way. In the right system they can sound magic.
