View Full Version : Headphone amp recommendations

Evening all.

The only thing that irritates me about my Rega amp is the complete lack of headphone output. I've got a nice pair of Beyer Dynamic DT770PRO (250 Ohm) headphones and I want to be able to use them so I need to buy a headphone amp to connect to the record out on the Brio-R.

The obvious choice is a Rega EAR, especially given that once my on-order RS1 speakers arrive I'll be running an exclusively Rega system. However, if anyone has any thoughts on other options I should look at I'm interested to hear them!

Slee Novo is very good. I had one for a while. Our own Stan B's Capella is also a cracking bit of kit.Had one of them too:lol: but can see if your all rega how you may want to have a full house

Many would agree with you on that :). I even managed to drop the price a bit due to the level of sales.

Slee Novo is very good.
As is the Solo Ultra Linear.

not tried one of their head amps, but have a phono amp of theirs and its terrific

Just had a look at the Capella and it seems a good option.

The problem now is that although I keep trying to persuade myself that I don't want to make changes to the main body of my system, there is part of me which misses the traditional size and feature-set of many integrated amps and CD players. As a result I've got to be sure that persuasion is going to win through before I spend on a head amp.

Matt it has one very very good preamp built in which i use as my main preamp now;)
