Hiya

I have a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 10.1's in Black Ash finish - they are 'conflict diamonds' in as much as they had a run in with our excitable Doberman and they came off slightly worse - the cabinet on one has a few dinks other than that they work perfectly. The grilles are a bit dusty but other than that fine.

My partner did get to it before it hit the floor but it did catch on the stand as it fell. There's a bit of veneer? missing on the side and another underneath where the bond between stand and blu-tak was stronger than cabinet and vinyl. There's also a couple of dinks/grazes on the edge of the glossy black front. If you listen to your music with your eyes closed (as you're supposed to) you'd never know!

I've attached photos - sorry Karsh of Ottowa I am not, and the light in the attic is poor.

Anyhoo, if you can put up with or fix the cosmetic damage you're welcome to have them if you can collect them from Sheffield, I don't have the boxes so posting them without further damage is awkward. I'll even give you the stands they fell off if you want them

The Doberman is still excitable, and noisy at times but otherwise under control - and the Diamond 10.4's I now use are chained to the wall

You know, a fix could be with some black wax 'stick' filler and/or black shoe polish. Not the same as original, but black is a very easy finish to disguise this sort of thing.

Thinking of a friend and fellow poster here - could they be packed and sent to W Sussex at the receiver's expense? I've just emailed him..

Hi Chris

As per your PM this morning and my reply; I'd love to have these off you if you'll box them. Happy to cover boxing and courier costs and not in desperate need for them so you can sort them whens best for you...

It should be easy enough to find a box big enough (supermarkets etc...) and plenty of bubblewrap and they'll be fine to send :)

Thanks

Dan

They are fine Grant, I continued to use the speakers for a couple of months before they were replaced, have always hankered for a pair of RS3's but Im happy with the 10.4 Diamonds the front room is only small.

If anyone is wanting a restore project they are fine, a couple of years ago I made a pair of towers to fit drivers from an old pair of Diamond 3's and they turned out very nice. I also have a pair of Rega EL8's that would make a good project too - just don't have the time and inclination these days. Making Cabinets is ok it's getting the finish right that's my problem. The mere mention of iron-on-veneer gives me the screaming ab-dabs.....
