It's the third one of these I've had. Not sure why I sold the last one really.

I take it's a toroidal SUT, what advantages does that give?

I couldn't say Alan.

The box was for an FRT-4, but the actual item is an FRT-3 SUT.

This is quite funny. Having had a good look at this FRT-3, I realise it is my old one (well there aren't really many in the UK). I recognise the earth extension that I put on and the plugs and some marks.

I reckon it may have have gone through a few new owners since I last saw it.

It's collected a couple of minor knocks (not much) that I can tidy up and I may upgrade the cables & plugs. Rather pleased actually 'cos it was a damn good sounding little SUT.

And I paid a fair bit less to buy it this time and rather less than I sold it for a while back. So it's a winner all round really. Hope it still works.

I'll be hanging onto it now and possibly sell one of my other SUTs (don't really want to as they each sound good).

What do they go for realistically Geoff. Ive been watching one for ages.

On average these days, I'd say over £200, they've been going up in value for the last few years..

It's a very good sounding SUT and a bargain at that sort of money. Very seldom listed by UK sellers on eBay though. I've had loads of SUTs and this is very much one of the better ones. Works happily with every MC I've tried. I compared it to the built in MC input transformers on my well respected EAR 834P (MC) and it walked all over it. Sounds great with a Graham Slee ERA Gold V or Reflex M.

Well, if you do succumb and decide to go the LO MC route. Have a word with me before buying a cartridge ;).
