I've been heavily involved in hi-fi for about 12 years now, i've come to a place where I just can't be arsed any more, seriously it's doing my head in.
Have a look at my signature because everything is up for sale first come first served.

It was all a huge misunderstanding Marco, one which i tried to qualify on numerous occasions but it all came to a head. I am sure that it was fueled by some of the other wammers and could have all been sorted out peacefully without any unpleasantness had i been given the opportunity. I think there were a lot of assumptions made about me being a dealer for Ming Da which at that stage i was not. It was only after i had been banned that i decided to actually be a demonstrator for Ming Da and duly paid a traid fee here on AOS. Due to my mum becoming very ill and since passing away i gave up my trade status anyway. Had there not been such unpleasantness on the wam i would have opened a trade account there. The rest is history. I (hopefully) made my peace with James at Scalford in person. As far as the Kondo amps, well, Perhaps we should hear them at the next Nebo??? With regards to supplying his coke i think he is now all electric.

I do find it ironic that one of the preferred brands (Audionote UK / Kondo) advocate what they smash down as "foo" e.g. fancy wire and components.
I know, you have to giggle at that... What was once a primary target for ridicule suddenly becomes different once there's money to be made from it! ;)
The whole thing's bollox now anyway, as I hear that James has sold the Wam (or part of it) to some record shop or something. Good luck to him, if that's what has made him happy, but I'd simply never use AoS in that way, despite receiving emails regularly from various parties wanting to buy the domain name.
AoS will always be a site for genuine audio and music enthusiasts, run along those lines ('punters' first, trade second), and so will never be turned into a primarily commercial entity or used to act as the 'pension fund' for my dotage, no matter how much the site becomes worth.
Firstly, I don't need the money, and secondly and most importantly, I really enjoy having this place to participate in, and seeing the pleasure that the AoS community gives to its members. Plus, being semi-retired, I have the time to devote to keeping the forum going, along with the very valued help of the mod team. As such, AoS will continue to exist in its current form for many years to come, as long as I'm around and at the helm! :cool:

TBH, Phil, as much as I'm sure that Anthony's a nice guy (and I wish him all the best in his new venture), the Wam and I, unless its ethos changes drastically, aren't what you would call a 'natural fit'.
Plus, as much as there are some good guys on Wigwam (many of whom are also members here), there are also folk there who really don't like me, and where that feeling is mutual, and so a) I wouldn't want to 'upset the applecart', or b) become embroiled in some very likely unpleasantness.
You only have to take a look at some of the bile posted by certain members of the 'Wam clique', on the 'April Fools' thread James started about the supposed merger with Wigwam and AoS, to see the strength of negative feeling towards AoS, which some folk there have. As funny as James' joke was, some of the content on that thread left a distinctly bad taste in the mouth, and showed that certain narrow-minded and bitter people are rather keen on retaining age-old grudges.
Moreover, aside from anything else, this place takes up all of my spare time, and so I simply wouldn't have enough hours in the day to participate in any meaningful way on other forums. I used to read pfm every day (as I enjoy many of the discussions there), but I find myself doing even that less and less, simply due to being too busy responding to numerous PMs and emails daily, not to mention contributing here on the forum itself.
But hey, I wouldn't have it any other way! :cool:

Yes, Iv'e thought about it but to be honest i am happy here. They're a bloody good bunch here and I have no wish to re-join ww and get on the wrong side of the pack animals that dwell there. I was pleased that i faced James up in person (even if i did have to stand on a chair) as this was a better way of putting it to rest. Marco is right, life is too short. I find Wigwam too corporate and too competitive and lacks the passion and camaraderie prevalent here on AOS.
