View Full Version : Atacama Nexus-i Stands - stability?
Looking for a set of stands for my Q Audio 2020i and am considering the Atacama 700mm version but the top plate seems a tad small for my liking (the speakers are 280mm X 170mm base size)
There are larger top plates available but at extra cost...
Anyone use these with large-ish bookshelf speakers who can comment on their stability in standard form?

hi mike, i use the 600 mm version of the nexus, i find they need some filler, no more than 3/4 full in my experience otherwise it kills the sound,up to 3/4 doesnt seem to alter the sound much for me, they do a base plate for the stands too ,about £25. to be honest with the filler and the base plate you might still find em a bit wobbly, havnt tried a larger top plate though, jim
Thanks for the info Jim ... sounds like 700mm could be just too much, might just go for wall brackets

To be fair they don't wobble all over the place, I only noticed as I was moving things about, it may of course be my floor:rolleyes: that's not helpful is it....
.. ended up getting a pair of Mission Stancette at a reduced price of £52. Although these are just short of 600mm the top plate matches the speakers perfectly and they seem pretty stable with only a slight wobble
Off to pick up a pair of slate slabs at the garden centre tomorrow, reduced to £2 each - which can't be bad ;)
Thanks for the help Jim .......
