My last post went on for so long the forum logged me out!

So I shall keep this one short and sweet to avoid the same fate...

My name is Colin Hewertson (Chewy) I live in Warrington and I have been meaning to join the forum for some time and thanks to Graeme, I've took the plunge.

So my system, nothing earth shattering and one might say "vintage"

Arcam Delta 60
Rotel RCD 965
Roth OLi3
and....
the only green Revolver in existence

So some background, my father-in-law worked at SEE Ltd. in Warrington who as some of you may know made the legendary revolver turntables and as a wedding present he built a green one to match our décor! After many years and plenty of fresh drive belts it still sounds as good as ever.

Being a family run business I can count Colin and Wyn Higham who founded the revolver brand as relatives, Colin sadly suffered a stroke many years ago which saw SEE close down and the Revolver cease production. However I do stay in touch and after a recent move Colin and Wyn were clearing out their unwanted stuff which included a pair of Allison CD-6s. Now despite Colin's stroke he has not lost any of his faculties and his verdict of "knackered" is probably correct, however I will never admit defeat, so keep an eye out for my very next post!

Welcome Colin; Revolver is a fine table and to have the only green one is a great way to remember your connections to the company. What are you listening to these days music wise?

If you have any pics of the system and table especially, open a thread in the gallery for us to see, if you dont mind

Hi Chewy. Welcome to AOS.

That was an interesting intro. I like the simple little Revolver turntable. It does what's expected of it and they are still popular, with many still going strong.

Do you have plans for your Hi-Fi. We like to hear what people have in mind.

You'll find plenty to interest you here, there are areas covering every aspect of Hi-Fi.

If you have questions, find the appropriate section and ask away, or if not sure use the Blank canvas area.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Hi Grant,

Gladly will upload some piccies, working away this week but will get onto that as soon as I return.

My taste in music is fairly eclectic, from Disclosure to Scott Mathews, Joanna Newsom, Arctic Monkeys and Anthony Hamilton if I like it, it gets played! Always open to suggestions from other posters.

One other thing that Colin and Wyn will be letting go is part of Colin's extensive record collection, simply no room to store it, so another driver for me to join the forum is to share some of this with the members.

If I'm able to I'd like to share pictures of the Allison speakers? I'd like to put out feelers for foaming kits.

Regards
Colin

There is a section for selling music at top of classifieds,..as for the speakers I would likely open a thread initially in the gallery and then either put a wanted ad in classifieds or just ask a question in blank canvas.

I'd certainly like to see the Allison speakers Colin. Allison made many interesting and good quality designs.

There are a few things to bear in mind when doing a surround replacement (surround profiles vary a bit and the choice of adhesives can be confusing). I've done a fair number of these myself, so speak to me when you need to and I'll assist.

Welcome to AoS Colin.

Allison made some interesting speakers. Hope you get yours fixed - to do so, we have a number of members here who have repaired the surrounds of their speakers, so should be able to help you out with advice etc.

Enjoy the Forum
