Had a look-see over on the Squeezebox forums, over on the Beta forum there's a work in progress build of the Server software, ver. 7.9.
There's a DSD playback plugin available, which only works with the Beta software.
Installed it tonight, it's rock solid and seems to be snappier than 7.8. :)
Don't have a DSD dac, but the plugin can convert it to PCM prior to playback so no issue there.
Sound quality into my Young is fantastic, the plugin has its own setup page, giving choice of different quality settings, digital filters and other parameters for tweaking.
Have a fair amount of DSD and SACD ISO's which I could play on the server with JRiver, but not on the Transporter. Now I can play a lot of music I couldn't before, which is always a good thing.
So a shout out to squeezebox users who has music on DSD, if you haven't already it's worth swapping to LMS 7.9
