View Full Version : Virgin Parental Control
It's been a while now but I'm still trying to get my head around the logic of this thing, if it has any.
Why, when watching a show I've recorded, do I have to enter a pin number sometimes but other times it just starts up?
It is not based on the content of the show. Star Trek:Voyager needs no PIN but Star Trek: The Next Generation does.
Sometimes I will need to enter a PIN to watch Time Team,. Sometimes not.
Rumpole of The Bailey - hardly something you would be concerned about young children viewing - PIN required.
Girls of The Playboy Mansion, featuring said girls fully billy bollocks, nope, no need to enter a PIN.
If I start watching something I have had to enter a PIN for then stop it, sometimes I have to enter a PIN again when I restart it and sometimes not.
It is nothing to do with the time of broadcast either, I've checked that. Makes no sense.

Infuriating, isn't it (or at least it is if you let it get to you)?
There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind it.
Have you tried contacting customer services about it?
I haven't - life's too short, and I think that just one phone call will take up more of my remaining time than entering the PIN currently does :)
Hahaha, do you realise you just admitted to watching Time Team?:ner:

That is rudiculous. Why is there a need to enter a PIN at all. Well there wouldn't be if the broadcasters weren't transmitting unsuitable stuff. It would drive me nuts. Now't personal but tell Virgin to stuff it.

Hey, I watch time team round the clock :eyebrows: great on the warm days when the gals have their skimpies on:eek:
I'm always digging holes in the garden and depositing stuff, for future diggers :stalks:

Interesting simile re when I used to use my mobile broadband router and when I went on the wam I got locked out as it said it was unsuitable content(seemed to be areas where pics were). Must be those pics of hifi. AoS was not affected. That was with 3mobile. they said you had to turn the parental thing off, but it did not work. apparently they had thousands of complaints about it being permanently on but due to them not giving a monkeys about customer relations they ignored them all. think they lost a fair bit of business due to it.
So its official HIFI is porn

I would rather hammer rusty nails into my legs than voluntarily contact Virgin customer services. :)
