Interesting comparison for anyone wanting a ADC for their Vinyl transfer into 0101010.

Interesting article Jimbo, cant believe some of the prices though unless its for proper pro use.
I get by with one of these for vinyl rips to FLAC, £25 quid and records into audacity. Sounds decent to me...

I use an E-MU 0404 USB or a Pioneer PDR-609.
I have the HRT, and it is very good indeed - I can't fault the sounds quality, but the 2.2v for full scale sensitivity is a bit low for my preamp, so I need to use a 6Db attenuator to prevent clipping which isn't ideal, although the sonic impact is minimal.
I also have the EMU 0404 USB and it is also very good. The only real problem is the software and driver bundle is aging rapidly, so compatibility starts to become an issue with modern OSs. I don't think you need to spend megabucks to get a good result - a delta sigma ADC chip isn't an expensive thing after all.
