Hi all,
Thought I'd post and say hello.
I've always enjoyed listening to music - rock mainly, though most popular forms. Got rid of my stereo in the early noughties, though it wasn't much of one. Ripped CDs to MP3 and only ever listened to an MP3 plwyer, or then my phone up until a couple of years ago. Then started thinking about a goodish stereo, but the kids take up too much space in the spare room with their guitars and drums so I don't have the space to do a stereo justice (also, I didn't trust them not to damage it like I did to my parents stuff when I was a kid).
I started looking at headphones instead and for my birthday 2 years or so ago, I bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DT880s and an HRT Microstreamer. Little did I know what the result would be......
My current list of stuff is:
DT880 premium 250 ohm,
Soundmagic HP100,
JVC HAS400B,
Denon AH D7100,
B&O H6,
Goldring DR150 (bought for my son to stop him using my more expensive headphones - didn't work),
Sennheiser Momentum over ear,
PSB M4U1,
AKG 451 (bought for my wife so she could listen to stuff from her phone while going for "good healthy walks". Didn't work either, though I use them when going for a run),
HiFiMan HE400,
Audio Technica ATH-IM50,
Soundmagic E10,
Ultimate Ears UE700
All used via Project Essential USB Turntable, Sonos Connect, iPad or pc using:
Schiit Asgard,
Little Dot III and
HRT Microstreamer (as a DAC, or Amp).
Most stuff bought second hand from AVForums.
Probably in near future (birthdays are always a good excuse), I'll be looking for another headphone Amp and possibly a less portable DAC, though as my network hard drive died recently with large chunks of my FLACs on it, maybe no DAC for a while. Thinking of Beresford Capella, but am also considering the HP 8A as it has two outputs and my eldest is into his music (hence the guitars - electric lead, bass and Spanish - and drums).
Anyway, enough from me for now.
Cheers
