This one really is not sinking in. Why do people post up on the board notifying the person they sent a PM to that they just sent them a PM?

Why do some people post about people posting that they sent a PM?

I have a feeling that this could go on....

Why does the sun come up in the morning and are the stars just pin holes in the curtain of night?

Same with people that Quote a post that is directly above the one they are post up to

A question for any Highlander :)

I guess one reason is to get proof of time of PM sent in a for sale thread?

Or regarding sales fighting over who gets it first just making it clear they are in there

If you dont have new message notification enabled then unless you actually lookat the notification bar you may well miss it. enabled it becomes more noticable . just one reason

Another reason is to let other people know. It does matter sometimes.
Simples, really.

You can browse the forum without being logged in….if you are not logged in you don't know if you have a PM ;) You can use the 'Email Notification of New Private Messages:' setting to receive an email though...

Well, someone's inbox may be full, as they've been too lazy to empty it, thus PM's aren't getting through... Or if someone is trying to 'sling you a deefy', as they say in Glasgow [ignore you].

One way of addressing that is to post a message on the open forum, along the lines of: 'oi fuckwit, empty yer inbox, so you can receive the PM I'm trying to send you!', thus embarrassing him or her into shifting their arse and responding... ;)

"Arrr yoo slingin' me a deefy pal? "

Is that the correct context? Might try that on a Glaswegian pal who hasn't answered my email yet ..
