Hello Steve. Welcome to AOS.

We have quite a few members in the West Country.

Tells us a bit more. What is the rest of your system and who's music do you play?

If you have any changes of equipment planned, tell us. We like to hear what people are doing.

You are welcome to post some equipment photos in the Gallery section.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

It's not a phono stage as such Steve. I can't tell the make, but to me it looks like an SUT (step up transformer) for use into a phono stage with a low output moving coil cartridge. Should you choose to use an MC cartridge, the SUT goes between the turntable and the phono stage. It boosts the low output from the cartridge to levels a normal (MM) phono stage can manage. They tend to be pricey, so I'd hang onto that if I were you. Handy thing to have.

If you have more questions about record playing gear, best bung them in the Analogue Art section where everybody can see them. :)
