Hello from CZ

Hi from new abroad member. I am quite new to all of this hifi stuff. Few years back I was listening 1€ headphones and speakers from my LCD monitor and I was happy :doh:. But now I am trying to change that. I found this forum when I was on the hunt for some reasonable DAC to use with my pc. I've already read few threads and it looks that registering to this forum was very good thing for me, not sure if you will be so happy when I start asking stupid questions ;).

Thanks everyone for nice greetings. My current setup isn't worth mentioning. I'm still student so for me is the portability quite important. Because of that I use headphones a lot. After I get my diploma and full-time job I will start thinking of getting some decent speakers. Right now I am listening mainly at evenings/nights because from school I go to work or vice-versa so headphones are best for that and I also love the intimacy of headphone listening. Not mentioning that's almost impossible to find some free space in my room. :lolsign:

Right now I am using some cheap eBay PCM1793 DAC --> portable headamp --> modded Alessandro MS1. But I hope that it will soon change and it'll be something like Beresford/Dacmagic/Pico/... (not certain which one) --> some full-size headamp --> AKG K701/AT ATH-AD900(1000) or something like that.

Headphones. A severely underrated method of listening to music in my opinion, and i don't just mean on the move. No crossover issues; full range driver coherence; no thermal compression issues; no room acoustics to deal with, and no angry neighbours!
I use a 4G ipod with Etymotics, and the sound from this 'system' carries a tune like few others i've heard (which, for a long time included my own!)
Anyway, as usual, i digress. Welcome to the forum, matey!
