View Full Version : Hello Art of Sound members
Hi everyone,
I am Doruk and living in Turkey. I have been reading the posts for a while and wanted to be a member finally.
I listen music since I know myself but started to have Hifi addiction for 2.5 years. I believe its one of the greatest things you can do to yourself - Increase the enjoyment of what you enjoy most :)
Mostly listening vinyls on my Goldenote Valore Turntable with Soundsmith cartidge. I just entered Valve world with a Primaluna Prologue One amp and really enyojing it. Beside of the analog set up, I have a Dac and a dedicated music server for listening my flacs or dsd files.
In terms of music styles I like Jazz and Rock music mainly. UK music history is the unique one in my opinion. You have the pleasure of having many legendary groups grown in your country.
I wish we can share the knowledge we have both in equipment and music bids.
Hi again.
Doruk

Hi again.
Doruk
...well, one of them
Welcome to AoS Doruk. I hope you enjoy the forum. Some nice equipment you have as well; maybe pop a picture or 2 into The Gallery section when and if you can.
Regards Grant
Hi Doruk
Welcome. AOS has members everywhere, many love valves and turntables. I nearly bought a Primaluna but I chickened out because I could not get to try it before buying.

Hello and welcome Doruk.
Geoff.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
Sure ı will upload some pictures of my system but need to arrange my rack for this.
Hi Doruk!
We don't see many Soundsmith cartridges in the UK.
Which one have you got?
Cheers, Peter
Hi Petrat
I got an Othello. Its a moving iron cart.
Not sure uf you are familiar with Goldenote products, ı first had goldenote babele cart with my valore turntable. Its in the same level with 2m red/blue b
Othello is far ahead the best upgrade ı had ever in my life.
Vinyls sound really soft and detailed now with a great sounstage. I can highly recommend it.
Thx
Thanks Doruk.
Moving iron cartridges can be really nice. The one I had about 15 years ago was a Cartridgeman Music Maker (a re-worked Grado Gold) and was clearly better than the moving magnet cartridges I'd been using. Soundsmith's strain-gauge cartridge really interests me, but I've never seen/heard one.
I have a friend who sailed a boat around the Mediterranean for many years, and she loved Izmir, living there for quite a while before moving on to Bodrum. She always says Turks were the friendliest people she met on her journeys.
Is hi-fi popular in Turkey, or is it like the UK, only for deranged old men? :)
Hi Petrat
Sorry for the late reply. Your friend absolutely right. She has been in very nice parts of the country.
Regarding with hifi here ı think its popular within a limited population. As you know it needs money [emoji5]️ but no there are many young people interested in this as well. Vinyl become more popular and digital devices also.
Welcome to AoS Doruk.
Some interesting gear you have - if you can manage it we would love to see some photos of it.
What sort of music do you like to listen to?
Welcome again - enjoy the Forum.
Regards
Barry
Thanks a lot Barry
Mainly ı listen rock and jazz but any kind of good music.
Sure ı will post some pictures of the equipment. But ı sold some of them and need to replace first [emoji6]
