I have a CD63 and it is a pretty good player. However, for your budget you can do much better. One of Pioneer's stable platter machines can be had for that sort of money or less and they will all show the Marantz a clean pair of heels. I use the CD63 in one of the bedroom systems and the Pioneer in the main one.

If you wanted to stick with NAD I have a C515BEE CDP (good reviews on line inc. http://www.whathifi.com/nad/c515bee/review) I've had from new (about three years old) with original box & remote I'd be willing to let go for £100 delivered? PM if interested.

I got a Teac PD-H500C on the bay a few months ago.It works very well in my system, much better than my old Marantz, which has gone to the attic. It is at least as good as my last cdp which was a naim cd5.Loads of them on ebay these days.Sure beats my SB touch and Bushmaster.I like it so much that i even got a spare laser, just in case.:)Which of course means i won't need it...

A lot of people are happy with the PD-S703.

The pd range got better with the bigger number usually but yes the 703 is a very good player...I used to have one along with a 603 and a 503

Not sure that answers his question in any depth or is very helpful.Still there you go.

I have a Technics SL-PG490 in my charity sale planned for the Scalford Show on behalf of Cancer Research UK.

Great player - cheap as chips at a 'guide price' of £30. Will see off most budget players, imho. Includes remote control with volume.

A moderator moved it to Digital as that is where it should be.

there is a short thread in critics corner which explains the reasons why this happens
